IMPulse NC LLC, a design/supply installer of Traction Power Systems, has acquired substantially all of the assets of UniTrac Systems, a specialty firm with deep roots in the supply of Overhead Contact Equipment and switch machines for electrified transit systems.

This equipment and engineering acquisition is in keeping with IMPulse NC's long range strategic plan of offering a complete and integrated spectrum of products and services for the Substation and Catenary Market to all transit modes, including light rail, electric trolley bus, commuter/high speed rail and streetcar/historic trains, as well as APM and Metro Systems.

Headquartered in North Carolina, IMPulse NC has, since its inception in 1990 provided an increasingly sophisticated array of products to every transit system in America, including self-enclosed traction power substations.

Headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, UniTrac Systems will relocate its primary facilities to Mount Olive. With a heritage dating to 1897, UniTrac has since provided overhead hardware and switch machines to nearly every rail and trolley systems in North America.

This combination of services will allow Impulse NC to integrate the UniTrac line with its own offerings to provide its clients with a seamless turnkey-driven service portfolio, provided by one solely responsible source, for design-build projects.
