Mount Olive, North Carolina, September 1, 2001

IMPulse NC LLC, the leading North American supplier of traction power systems, has obtained its first traction electrification systems contract in the State of North Carolina.

The City of Charlotte has awarded its Charlotte Vintage Trolley Project (Contract NO. 512-98-124) for the 2 Mile Vintage Trolley System to Crowder Construction Company of Apex, NC. Crowder, in turn, has awarded the traction electrification system to IMPulse NC, primarily due to the experience and close proximity of the IMPulse NC plant for this important project.

IMPulse NC is responsible for the two (2) modular, prefabricated traction power substations and the entire overhead contact wire hardware system by way of design, engineering, manufacturing, testing and commissioning of the new electric trolley system.

The Charlotte Vintage Trolley will convert the existing Railroad Right-of-Way into an Electric Trolley System from Tremont Avenue (South End of Charlotte) to Ninth Street (in Uptown), via the Charlotte Convention Center. The project is scheduled for completion by the Fall of 2002.

IMPulse NC continues to position itself as the leader in the traction power industry, providing complete traction power systems that include substations and overhead electrification hardware for street car, electric trolley bus, light rail and heavy rail applications.

IMPulse NC is a member of The Marmon Group of companies; an international association of autonomous manufacturing and service companies with collective sales in excess of $7 billion.
